Thurso will tomorrow be aiming to prolong their North Caley season when they entertain Muir of Ord Rovers at the Dammies.
Defeat in the Jock Mackay Memorial Cup semi would complete what has been a disappointing campaign for the Vikings.
Victory would provide the silver lining of a cup final appearance and
the chance of getting their hands on their first silverware in two seasons.
The sides each won their home league match with Muir finishing the
MSIS championship a place above their rivals.
Thurso have not had a competitive outing since their last league match on March 14, with a scheduled friendly last Saturday versus
Kirkwall Thorfinn being scrubbed because of the weather.
“It’s going to be a tough one,” said Thurso manager Stevie Reid.
“We haven’t kicked a ball for a fortnight but the guys are raring to go.
“Both teams are in the same boat as this is their last chance to win something this season.”
Central defender Stuart Sinclair is ruled out because of work commitments while midfielder Jamie MacKenzie is on holiday.
Striker Martin Sinclair has shrugged off a groin strain while midfielders Gavin Bremner and Wayne Monkman are both available.
With keeper Asa Sinclair still injured, Michael Gray will be between the sticks while veteran defender Kevin Warner is also likely to feature.
The match kicks off at 2.30 p.m.
. A Robbie MacDougall hat-trick helped keep Golspie Sutherland’s title drive firmly on track with a 6-0 home win over Invergordon. Ken Whyte and Ross Thomson and Michael Dunnett were also on target.
Balintore nailed third place in the league with a 4-1 home victory over Bonar Bridge.
A Ross Powell brace in between goals from Ross Powell and Jordan Mitchell put the seasiders on easy street before Sean Henstridge’s late consolation for the visitors.
